A little help from Yumsy
How can we
help, Chef?
Meal plans, groceries, or your account. Let’s get you sorted.

Plans and recipes
How do I create a weekly dinner plan?
Choose your recipe preferences, then open Yumsy’s Home tab and start swiping. Your first right swipe opens the subscription screen, where you can choose weekly or yearly. Only yearly includes a one-week free trial. Swipe right to keep a dinner and left to skip it. Once you have chosen seven dinners, Yumsy turns them into a Monday-to-Sunday plan and prepares your grocery list.
Why don’t I have enough recipes to complete my week?
Yumsy combines your diet, excluded ingredients, recipe styles, and cooking-time limit. A restrictive combination can leave fewer than seven matching recipes. Open Settings > Recipe preferences and remove a filter or choose a longer cooking time, then return to your recipe deck.
How do I change my recipe preferences?
Open Settings > Recipe preferences. You can update your diet, dinner styles, excluded ingredients, serving count, and cooking time. These changes affect future recommendations and do not replace dinners already saved in your current plan.
How do I replace one planned dinner?
Complete your seven-dinner plan, open My Week, choose the dinner you want to change, and select Replace dinner. Choose a replacement from the matching recipes. The other six dinners remain unchanged.
How do I clear my current weekly plan?
Open Settings > Clear current weekly plan and confirm the deletion. This removes the current plan and its swipe history. Your recipe preferences and plan-access history remain. Clearing a plan does not change your subscription or restart a free trial.
Can I use Yumsy on Android or the web?
Yumsy is currently available for iPhone only.
Grocery list
Why isn’t my grocery list ready?
The combined grocery list becomes available after all seven dinners have been chosen. Return to Home and finish selecting your weekly recipes. If the week is complete but recipe data cannot load, check your connection, reopen Yumsy, and try again.
How does the grocery list work?
Yumsy combines ingredients from all seven dinners, scales the quantities to your selected household size, and groups the result by aisle. Ingredients used by multiple dinners are merged rather than listed repeatedly.
Can I copy or share my grocery list?
Yes. Open Grocery and use Copy grocery list or Share grocery list. You can also check items off while shopping and reset all checked items from the same screen.
Do grocery check-offs sync to another device?
For solo plans, custom grocery items and check-offs stay on your device. In a shared household, custom items and check-offs synchronize between both members and are cached locally for offline use.
Account, reminders, and privacy
Why didn’t Yumsy ask me to create an account?
Yumsy does not require a named sign-up for solo use. On first launch, the app creates a private pseudonymous account with a random identifier. A verified email address is required only if you secure your account or use household sharing.
Can support recover my plan after I reinstall Yumsy?
Not always. Because Yumsy does not use an email-and-password login, a permanently lost anonymous session may make the previous account’s preferences and plans unrecoverable. An App Store subscription can be restored separately, but restoring a purchase does not guarantee recovery of data tied to a lost anonymous account. Do not delete or reinstall Yumsy as an early troubleshooting step.
How do I turn the Sunday reminder on or off?
Open Yumsy > Settings and change the Sunday plan reminder switch. The reminder is scheduled for Sundays at 10:00 local time unless the following week is already planned.
Why am I not receiving the Sunday reminder?
Open Yumsy > Settings and confirm that Sunday plan reminder is enabled. If Yumsy says notifications are off, use its Open Settings action and allow notifications for Yumsy in iOS Settings. A reminder is not shown when the following week is already planned.
How do I delete my Yumsy account and data?
Open Yumsy > Settings > Account & Data > Delete Account. Review the warning and confirm deletion. Yumsy requests deletion of the account and associated data before clearing the device. You need an internet connection. Account deletion is permanent and does not cancel an Apple subscription.
What should I do if account deletion fails?
Check your connection, make sure Yumsy is up to date, and try again. If deletion fails, Yumsy keeps the device data and session so the request can be retried. If the problem continues, email support@getyumsy.com.
Where can I read Yumsy’s privacy policy?
Read the Yumsy Privacy Policy for details about data handling, service providers, retention, deletion, and your privacy rights.
